Flipnote Studio, known in Japan as Moving Notepad (うごくメモ帳, Ugoku Memochō), is a free downloadable 2D digital animation application available through the Nintendo DSi's DSiWare digital distribution service.
Flipnote Studio (DS) + Flipnote Studio 3D (3DS) Originally released for the Nintendo DS and 3DS line of systems, it was a relatively simple program that has spawned its own subcommunity in animation. The 3D version is slightly more advanced overall, though still relatively the same. You are not able to download it officially anymore, so if you have a copy of it lying stagnant on your old DS, then great. It is recommended for beginners if you have a copy; otherwise, it is relatively difficult to get into. You can emulate it onto a computer; however, the effort you go through may not be worth it.
Many notable animators have bean known to use the software such as Zane Little, Raxdflipnote, Hatena360 and Okidox.
